Leading Global PR Organization Honors Small Giants Water

At this year’s IPRA Golden World Awards for PR campaigns, the Šibenik-Knin County Tourist Board’s initiative Water of Little Giants won the 2025 award in the “Sustainability Communication” category.


 

What IPRA stands for

IPRA, the International Public Relations Association, was founded in 1955 and represents the leading global network of PR professionals. The goal of IPRA is to improve communication and ethical practice of public relations, which is achieved through networking, a code of conduct and an intellectual approach to the PR profession.

IPRA is the organizer of the annual global competition in the field of public relations - the Golden World Awards for Excellence (GWA).

Launched in 1990, the annual IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA) initiative recognizes excellence in public relations practice globally in a variety of categories. The winners of this award are selected projects whose campaigns serve as an example that meets international standards of excellence in public relations.

The award selection criteria are tied to fulfilling one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Small Giants Water is awarded in the category of Sustainability Communications

From its very beginning, the Waters of the Little Giants initiative emphasizes the connection with several sustainable development goals of the UN. therefore, the Sustainability Communication category was the most appropriate choice for the campaign application.

Each campaign's candidacy requires completion of 6 categories, with supporting data, metrics and accompanying performance analysis.

As a finalist, Small Giants Water was supposed to deliver a complete analysis that includes: 

  • Campaign overview
  • An opportunity that was addressed with the campaign
  • Analysis of the "problem" and campaign strategy with methodology, branding and communication and engagement in the community
  • Campaign planning with objectives, main messages and target audience
  • Campaign implementation with strategy, challenges and implementation
  • Campaign results

 

 

 

Annual award for a long-lasting initiative

Small Giants Water was first presented at a press conference on March 22, 2024, at the Šibenik Theater on World Water Day. Since that day, it has been systematically working to communicate the idea of ​​the initiative to target groups in the community, the tourism and hospitality sector, and visitors to the Šibenik-Knin County.

Although the campaign's entry into the IPRA GWA initiative brought an annual award, the initiative's goal is to permanently develop and expand its impact, going beyond the term "campaign".

Encouraged and proud of the awarded award, Small Giants Water is exploring ways to improve its communication and send messages about water protection, the value of our resources and the need to preserve them for future generations.
